Customs related information in Russia

For most people, customs means a process that triggers a feeling of uncertainty and seems quite complicated. Customs rules between EU and Russia are indeed complex as a whole. However, when dealing with only one product group, this complexity declines significantly.

Russia and Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)

Russia is part of the Eurasian Economic Union and part of the WTO. Both organizations have a decisive influence on the framework in which imports and customs clearance to Russia take place.

Imports into Russia or into the Eurasian Economic Union may be subject to certain restrictions which, however, largely concern industrial goods.

The following two categories shall be taken into account:

200 euro exemption limit

A 200 euro exemption limit applies to all individual shipments to private recipients in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). The recipient does not pay any import VAT under this limit.
